I have recently come to the conclusion, that m&m's are the best and most addictive candy. I have a jar beside my computer and after school munchies bring it down pretty quick. If I was ever a wizard or whatever I'd make a never-ending jar of m&m's.

Is Virgin Mobile actually a good company? Like anyone have good experiences with it? The only thing I've found I like is that you get to pick your hold music.. I thought that was pretty cool.

March Break coming up.. I'm really excited actually. Well I have to miss drinking on St. Patty's (which is my favourite holiday.. and everything is my favourite colour too) but in exchange I get a 4 day vacation in Niagara Falls and Toronto and get to see The Hour with George.. (cant spell this) Stroumbolopolous (?). Anyways it should be pretty sweet.

I'm off to watch anime.

Animeee

so, I'm pretty much in love with anime.

My favourites have to be:
  1. Naruto
  2. Bleach
They're both amazing animes and I can watch them over and over without getting sick of them.

This year is my first year going to Anime North. I'm so excited for it. Im planning on being Nanao from Bleach.. (its very hard to find cool characters with glasses!). But it would be fun wearing anything. i'm going with a group of people and I'm pretty sure all of them are being Bleach characters too. So far we have a Rukia, a Nanao, and an Orihime. My other friend might be Ichigo and the other might be Shunsui (which will go with my Nanao :) )

Anyways, I just got bored because I've been watching Naruto all day long soo thought I'd take a bit of a break.

Coraline

Did anyone see Coraline? I actually just got back from seeing it. I'm completely undecided.

It was cool, the whole doppelganger/reverse universe thing. I really liked the button/doll aspect of it too. And the animation was really good.. it reminded me of Tim Burton (though I cant help but say that it would have been better if it HAD been Tim Burton).

I just don't know though.. the characters weren't really there for me. Coraline and.. its really terrible I can't remember his name.. the other stalker child. They were all 1D for me though.

I am going to go see it again though, and theres a 99.9% chance I'll be influenced by something or other ;) we'll see how I like it then,

Love day? More like 'The day to ring people out of too much money buying worthless crap."

So, you might have guessed I don't like Valentine's Day much.
I mean it'd be cute and all.. if people didn't take advantage of it to earn money or to get sex. Seriously people? come on now.

Also, do we even need it? Give me one good purpose this day serves. And no don't give me that whole 'it's a day to share with the people you love and to celebrate it'. You're wrong. That is just the bullshit reason consumers are given to buy, and buy, and buy.. in the disguise of 'giving'.

Oh, well. If you like it, go for it. You might get laid. If you're single and hating it.. or even in a relationship and hating it even more.. join the club.

L vs. Light

Warning.. may contain spoilers. And don't we hate those?

So, any Death Note fans out there? It's definitely one of my favourite animes.. I mean it's just so smart and the twists are always unexpected. I haven't even finished yet (7 more episodes to go!) and I love it. It's like.. it even has a leg up on reality crime shows and shows like CSI. And I love how they included the shinigami in it too.. I just love me some Death Gods.

One thing I don't like in the series was how they killed off L. I mean.. I like Light and he's been a really good character from the beginning but he didn't beat L. And then they bring in Mello and Near to end it off.. I dont know it was just much more personal and indepth when it was the battle between Light and L and how they could outdo and outmaneuver each other. Oh well... still an amazing series.

Ever thought what you'd do with your very own death note? I have some ideas.. heh heh.

Define Necessity

Hello, anyone who bothers to read this.

So, I was just thinking about excess. If you think about it, it's become such a big part of our world nowadays. We buy what we want, when we want - even if we don't have the means. Notice I didn't say anything about 'need' there.

Not to be judging, but take that girl that just had octuplets (making the Little Monster count to about fourteen kids. FOURTEEN KIDS.) when she doesn't even have a job.

How do you know when you've gone too far?
I honestly think we've all gone too far. When you put some expensive unnecessary thing above a person in need, is that not excessive? Countries spend millions of dollars for flashy things, like a new building or a new road/highway. That's good and all - but what about all of the homeless people that have nowhere to sleep, while expensive apartment buildings or hotels are being built? What happens to the starving kids in other countries who die everyday, when a new fancy restaurant is being completed in an already crowded New York?

I don't pretend to be above all of this. I'd be more apt to go buy a Cosplay costume than to donate to charity. I'm just saying to think a bit people. What do we really need? Need vs. want.. there's actually a huge difference there. This one thing I heard awhile ago put it all into perspective for me:
'The kids today go out and buy ridiculously expensive concert tickets, and on the way to the concert they walk by 5 homeless people begging for change. They don't give them a single glance, and go spend the change in their pocket on snacks.'

And so it begins.

This is my first blog; stick with me here people. I'll learn as I go along.

I'm not very good at these but I do like them so I'll actually try this time. I tend to have a lot of free time on my hands and hey, look at technology just rolling along. It's better to get running infront of it instead of getting blindsided and flattened. Nice analogy eh?

Anyways I think I'm supposed to stick in here some stuff about me. I'll run through the basics:
  • My name is Katelyn, but call me Lyn
  • I live in Sarn-hole, Ontario - home of the lovely Chemical Valley
  • I'm a total nerd, and I'm very happy that way
  • I love everything anime, and I'm going to Anime North this year. Any anime fans out there, come talk to me. :)
